Um hier den Arbeitsaufwand an Gehäusen und Schalt- schränken zu minimieren, empfiehlt sich der Einsatz von Erweite- rungen und Reduktionen. So können zum Beispiel einzelne Adern von dicken Kabeln durch eine Erweiterung in das Gehäuse einge- führt werden, wobei die äussere Leitungsisolierung in der Kabelver- schraubung endet. Hierbei bleibt die vorhandene Schutzart selbst- verständlich erhalten. Überflüssige Gehäuseöffnungen werden durch den Einsatz von Verschlussschrauben abgedichtet und somit vor dem Eindringen von Schmutz bewahrt. Falls keine Gewindebohrung vorhanden ist, können Gegenmuttern verwendet werden.
